I get that behind every cake is a person filled with unbridled joy at being able to live out their dreams, but I also get that the journey there isn’t always easy. That’s why I created Flourish Cake School. Because I’ve been where you are, and with my wealth of industry knowledge paired with a generous spirit, I am ready to share it all with you!

The first thing I want you to know is… I get it.

I come from a long line of food lovers, but for me, baking was always a hobby, not a career plan. So, I packed up my cake tins and joined the Army, training as a medic and then in the operating theatre. My career took me around the world, but a car accident in 2009 abruptly ended it. During my recovery, I found solace in sugarcraft, developing a new skill that aligned with my attention to detail and refocused my mind on something positive.

MY STORY

From humble beginnings, taking cake commissions from friends and family and pitching up at local farmers' markets, I transitioned into specialising in luxury, bespoke wedding cakes with an emphasis on sugar flowers, texture, and on-trend colour palettes. Through Hayley Elizabeth Cake Design, I design and deliver wedding cakes across the south of England, serving high-profile clients and luxury venues. With a growing Instagram following, I expanded into online cake decorating and business courses to meet the high demand. Now, through Flourish Cake School, I offer aspiring cake artists and entrepreneurs the chance to learn my signature style and techniques via downloadable templates, videos, courses, and 1:1 mentoring. This dual focus allows me to remain actively engaged in cake design and the wedding industry while nurturing the next wave of exceptionally talented cake artists like you!

My Approach

I believe in giving more than expected in everything I do, especially in my work and regarding Flourish. I’m often described as an open book and unwaveringly honest, which is why I’m eager to share everything I know, from my processes to industry insights, without holding anything back. Unlike some who gate-keep their tips and tools, I’m known for being incredibly generous with my time and expertise, ensuring you have everything you need to flourish in business and life.

I will support you, ask thought-provoking questions, and offer a variety of different perspectives. As your mentor and biggest cheerleader, I’m here to guide and root for you 100%.
